Neil Mackinnon called me at home to:- Arrange a meeting with me .... I refused on the grounds that I had a lot of commitment in the near future
- He insisted that we needed to meet ... I refused again and asked what he wished to discuss
- He then alleged that I had breached a MGAB confidentiality ... I asked how but got no answer
- He the asserted that "I corner people" ... I do not recall responding to that
- He then asked for my resignation from the MGAB .... I refused and told him that he did not have any authority to ask for my resignation
- He agreed that he didn't but he said that he still wanted me to resign .... I told him that I would consider doing so if he put his proposition to the Aldermen and they asked me to resign
- At this point I informed him that if we were exchanging frank points of view I had no confidence in his chairmanship, that his closing down of discussion was a serious concern, that under his chairmanship the MGAB had virtually advised the LCC Aldermen/Trustees of no POLICY advice and that the MGAB was a decorative bureaucratic device that was inhibiting change and policy development ... Neil disagreed with me on all counts
- He the hung up.
